Volsita-100 Tablets contain Sitagliptin 100 mg, an oral antidiabetic medication used for the management of Type 2 diabetes mellitus. Sitagliptin belongs to the DPP-4 inhibitor class and works by increasing incretin hormone activity, which helps stimulate insulin release when blood glucose levels are elevated and reduces glucagon secretion. This helps improve blood glucose control, particularly after meals.
Volsita-100 may be prescribed alone or in combination with other antidiabetic medicines, along with a healthy diet and regular exercise. It is not intended for the treatment of Type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.
